Punjab is a land of good hearted people and even better food. Most dishes in India are now eaten in every region however these are some food which are known to have originated in Punjab. Rice is not a ‘Punjabi‘ staple food. But its grown in large amounts in the fields of Punjab, mostly to be exported. I was lucky enough to watch and even work little around the fields for few years on and off. Its usually eaten once a week as a specialty dish in a normal Punjabi household and Basmati rice is preferred.
